Porting to Android
After two years without working on this project, I decided to update it and finally fix the main bugs. Another important point is that I decided to move the game to mobile, specifically Android. I believe that the type of game I want to create is much better suited to this format. Of course, the UI has been a significant undertaking and has introduced several bugs.
During the past week, I also added some features for the buildings:
Some now allow players to unlock upgrades or exchange resources. Houses generate inhabitants, fields produce wheat, and the mill transforms wheat into bread. Unfortunately, all of this isn't very useful yet. I think future improvements will focus on this aspect.
I also managed to create some music, but I still need a bit more experimentation to achieve a listenable result, as I’m a complete beginner in this area. I’m having a lot of fun trying out various things in FL Studio.
I would like to add a lot more to this project:
- Villagers to make the world feel much more alive (allowing interactions with them, having them perform tasks to boost resource gathering, etc.)
- Implementing an inventory to make placing buildings easier with a simple drag-and-drop action.
- Adding polish everywhere (build and destruction effects, sound design).
That’s a brief summary of the project revival. I hope you enjoy the progress and continue to follow along.
Thank you very much! (I promise I’ll try to be much more active.)
